Nelson is a second-screen research companion that understands how to associate your questions or prompts with the content he needs to give you the best possible answers for your research in Latin America. He knows all of the below content, so just sign up for access if you’d prefer to just talk to him.

Nelson only works with content that the Southern Pulse team curates for him. 

• He benefits from having been trained on 20 years of proprietary Southern Pulse data. Nelson also receives a daily diet of curated information the Southern Pulse team selects for him to read. 
• And Nelson also reads the news from a curated list of online, open sources that the Southern Pulse team trusts.

If Nelson doesn’t know the answer, he’ll tell you. 

• He’s not going to try to offer you an educated guess, so don’t worry about him making stuff up. Depending on your prompt, he may offer you some options on where to go to find what you need. 
• And you can always leave feedback for Nelson directly, email Nelson, or contact Southern Pulse if you need more information.

Nelson’s answers are limited by a number of characters and the format of the answer. 

• He’s going to give you the best possible answer given his character limitations for each prompt. This is why we encourage you to iterate with Nelson. 
• Ask him questions based on the answers he’s giving you. 
• You have an unlimited number of questions available to you, so please be generous with Nelson and feed him a lot.

Nelson may try to write you a memo if you ask him to. 

• But he’s currently not trained to write memos or longer reports. Not yet. 
• If you do ask him to write you something, make sure to tell him you want it in "memo" style, or "prose" style. You also should tell him to use a "professional tone," or something similar.
• Let us know through the feedback feature if this is something you’d like Nelson to be able to do for you.

Nelson understands Spanish and Portuguese. 

• Nelson will respond in Spanish or Portuguese if you ask in either language.
• Otherwise, he is happy to work with you in English.

Nelson does keep a record of your chat history. 

• They are reviewed on a regular basis to ensure that the Southern Pulse team is as accurate as possible when curating information for you. 
• Please see Southern Pulse’s AI policy to learn more about how we manage your privacy while maximizing our input for accuracy.

Nelson does know a lot of people in Latin America, but he’s not trained for due diligence.

• Though the Southern Pulse team will continue to prepare and feed Nelson profiles on people of note and of interest in Latin America, Nelson does not have a way to go out and look for information on people or companies beyond what exists in his database.

• Analysts, journalists, and collection specialists participate in the SP Response team to ensure that Nelson’s knowledge gaps are consistently addressed.
