President Correa criticizes U.S. drug war

On 4 June 2012, President Rafael Correa expressed his support for partial legalization of drug consumption, calling the international war on drugs a failure. Correa stated that the supposed failure is essentially the responsibility of the United States, but he acknowledged the role played by Latin American governments in failing to challenge the war on drugs.
